Inauguration of Burullus, Beni Suef and New Capital Power Plants
The German Ambassador to Cairo, Julius Georg Louis, announced during a press conference held by the Embassy, that President Abdel Fattah Sisi with Chancellor Angela Merkel will attend the inauguration of the first phase of three Siemens-built power stations, located at Burullus, Beni Suef and New Capital, through video conferencing. This event shall take place during the Chancellor's visit to Cairo starting tomorrow.
The total (EPC+Finance) cost of the Siemens power plants deal, as announced earlier, is about 8 billion Euros.

Daba'a power plant contract signature postponed to 2nd Half of 2017
The final contracts with Russia for the Daba'a nuclear power plant won't be signed until the second half of the year instead of the first quarter, as was previously expected.

EEHC plans to add 7000 MW of coal-fired power plants to the grid by 2023, in addition to the project planned by Al-Nowais.

Economic Committee reviewed The Green Power Giant project
The Cabinet Economic Committee has reviewed a report on Green Power Giant project, sponsored by the Alliance Group of companies headed by Sky power, to carry out a huge solar project investments valued at approximately $5 billion and consists of 4 axes include solar power projects with a total capacity of 3000 MW, as well as factories for the production and assembly of photovoltaic cells of 600 MW/Year, as well as a program of training, education and research and development in the field of solar energy. This was in preparation for presenting the issue to the Cabinet at a future meeting.
